Rotala Nanjenshan
Mayaca Sellowiniana
Not much is known of this finely-structured, decorative, South American plant. It is frequently misidentified as Rotala sp. Nanjenshan, and has not gotten great attention as its own correctly found species.
The leaves of Mayaca Sellowiniana are narrow, needle-like, and grow close to the stem. It has compact shoots and dense foliage. The species is a great decorative plant, and for its size works best in the foreground or midground, depending on how much light it gets. It is tolerant and generally easy to care for, as long as it is trimmed frequently enough for its fast growth rate.
