AMANO SHRIMP
Amano shrimp (Caridina multidentata) are excellent algae eaters and a favorite in planted aquariums. They’re hardy, active, and great for keeping tanks clean, but they do not breed in freshwater.

• Tank Size: 10+ gallons
• Temperature: 68–78°F
• pH: 6.5–7.5
• GH: 5–10 | KH: 2–6
• Water Type: Stable, well-cycled freshwater
DIET
• Algae and biofilm (great hair algae eaters)
• Supplement with sinking shrimp foods, wafers, or blanched veggies
• Known to be bold feeders
TANK SETUP
• Planted tanks preferred
• Hiding spots for molting
• Gentle filtration (sponge or low-flow filters)
BREEDING
• Breed in freshwater but larvae require brackish → saltwater to survive
• Not practical for most home aquarium
