Hygrophila Pinnatifida is a one-of-a-kind plant native to India. The leaves might be brown, purple, red, green, or yellow depending on the conditions in which they are kept. This plant thrives in high-intensity lighting with Co2 and fertilizer. It has been observed that it is susceptible to potassium shortage, which is characterized by small holes in the older leaves.

This adaptable plant can be grown submerged or emersed, with or without soil. We experimented with planting stems directly into soil as well as adhering them to rock/wood. The stems will eventually root and anchor themselves in both cases. Under high lighting, the stems tend to remain shorter and more compact, while putting out lateral shoots that can be trimmed and replanted or just let to develop. Cutting the stems horizontally can also work, but new growth takes longer in our experience.
