Pogostemon Stellata, Pogostemon Stellatus Octopus,

Pogostemon Stellatus is a lovely perennial plant that comes in a variety of colors ranging from green to red to pink. This is a simple to care for plant that adds movement and dimension to the aquarium. The narrow, pointed leaves grow in opposite pairs along the entire stem. This plant will branch out and offer a bushy filler for the mid- or background of your tank if pruned frequently.

This is a simple plant, but to achieve the desired vivid red hue, you must offer adequate lighting and nutrients. A high iron concentration will highlight the plant's crimson tones. CO2 injection is not essential for the growing of this plant, however it can aid in its growth. The plant can be grown in either submerged or emersed conditions.

Plants can be propagated by taking cuttings from the main stem and replanting them in the substrate.
