Ludwigia white

Ludwigia White is a rare and highly sought-after stem plant prized for its striking cream-white to pale pink foliage. Its extremely light coloration creates a dramatic contrast against green and red plants, making it an excellent choice for a focal point or accent in a high-tech planted aquarium. Because the leaves contain very little chlorophyll, Ludwigia White grows more slowly and is considerably more demanding than most Ludwigia varieties.

For the best white coloration and healthy growth, provide strong, consistent lighting, injected CO₂, and regular fertilization with both macro and micronutrients. Stable conditions are especially important with this plant. Because of its limited chlorophyll, it does not tolerate prolonged shading or major fluctuations as well as greener Ludwigia varieties.

Plant individual stems with a little space between them so light and water circulation can reach the lower leaves. Once the stems become established, trim the healthy tops and replant them to create a fuller group. Avoid burying too much of the stem when planting.

Some melting or loss of older leaves can occur while Ludwigia White adjusts to a new aquarium. Once established under good conditions, new growth should become increasingly pale and develop the beautiful white-to-soft-pink coloration that makes this plant so unique.

Important: Ludwigia White is best suited for experienced planted-tank keepers. It is not recommended for low-light or non-CO₂ aquariums.
