Rose Sword
Common Name: Rose Sword Plant
For those who are new to the planted aquarium, the Sword rose plant is a lovely mid- or background plant. Wide, rectangular leaves with lovely striations, wavy texture, and a range of hues from pink to greenish brown are produced by sword rose plants. The plant's young, pink or bronze colored leaves will eventually turn bright to dark green as they grow. These plants are simple to maintain and do not require the injection of CO2, but they do, like most plants, require a substrate that is rich in nutrients in order to thrive. High illumination brings out more color in the leaves, but they can withstand low to moderate lighting just fine.
Plants for the sword rose can grow submerged or emersed. The submerged plant produces seeds into the substrate with its blooms. Plants submerged in water spread via runners. You can remove the runners to stop the spread of sword rose.
