Common Name! Radican Sword

An aquascape's background can be beautifully and effectively covered with Radican Sword plants. These plants feature long, oval, bright green leaves with distinct veins that are somewhat translucent and have short stems. Translucence of the foliage nicely captures the light. Radican sword plants are excellent for communal fish tanks since they can withstand a variety of water conditions. Radican swords expand swiftly, which is useful if you want to fill in a tank's background or middle ground.

These plants can tolerate most lighting conditions in a substrate rich in nutrients, but moderate to high lighting is optimal. much while CO2 infusion is not required, it will help the plant develop much more quickly if it is. In a small tank, radican sword plants need to be frequently clipped because they grow in a rosette shape and can reach quite huge. They may grow either submerged or emerged, making them excellent plants for tanks of a big size. Even submerged plants can occasionally send forth a flowering branch. Emersed plants develop tiny white flowers.

Radican sword plants spread through side shoots that grow from their rhizome and can be cut off and planted elsewhere. You can prune the side shoots and older leaves from your Radican sword plant to limit its size.
