Cryptocoryne "Mi Oya"
Common Name: Crypt Mioya
A less frequent crypt species that works well as a foreground or midground plant is the Crypt Mioya. The thin, ruffled leaves can be any hue from brilliant green to copper brown, adding a splash of color to the typically green foliage. Due to its low maintenance needs and ease of maintenance, this plant is recommended for beginners just like other crypts. The plant may feed through the roots and grow swiftly if it is cultivated in a quality aquarium substrate, such as Controsoil, without the need for excessive light, CO2, or fertilizer dosing.
Both submerged and emersed crypts can grow. Split the rhizome or remove new growth before replanting to propagate.
