Barclaya Longifolia Bulb
Barclaya Longifolia
The bulbaceous aquatic plant Barclaya is relatively rare and unusual. When combined with green stem and carpet plants, its long crimson leaves have the potential to become a large and striking specimen. The leaves can turn a deep maroon crimson color when exposed to strong light levels, CO2, and fertilizers. It can grow at lower light levels, but the leaves will turn bronze and tend to be duller. The size of the bulb itself varies (0.5-1.5"), so don't let that stop you! Once planted correctly, the bulb will keep getting bigger. The leaves will appear and develop to a size of 8 to 12".
