Common Name: Red Tiger Lotus
A common variety of water lily used in aquascaping is the tiger lotus. When paired with green stem and carpet plants, its vivid crimson leaves can develop into a vast and magnificent spectacle. The leaves can turn deep crimson with flecks of orange and brown when exposed to strong light, CO2, and fertilizers. It may grow in reduced light, but the leaves will turn bronze and become duller. Like other water lilies, this plant has the ability to send leaves all the way to the surface.
