Anubias Coffeefolia
Anubias Barteri Coffeefolia is the common name for Anubias Barteri Coffeefolia.
Anubias Coffeefolia is a lovely variation of the common Anubias Barteri that can reach a height of 12 inches. It, like other Anubias, can survive in both submerged and emersed aquariums and terrariums. It has tall stems, similar to Anubias Barteri, but the leaves are ruffled. Because the leaves can grow up to 3" long, this plant works well as a midground or background plant.
This Anubias variation, like other Anubias, is a blooming plant that develops best when the rhizome is attached to a hard surface, such as wood or stones. They prefer low to medium light and can benefit from frequent fertilization. CO2 is not required, however it can stimulate faster growth and stronger leaves. Because it grows slowly, the leaves are prone to algae growth if exposed to bright light.
Propagation is simple; simply cut or pull apart rhizomes to be replanted. If the rhizomes are not kept above the substrate, the plant will decay.
