Echinodorus sp. Altlandsberg AKA Sword Altlansberg
The intriguing new Echinodorus 'Altlandsberg' Sword Plant has vibrant foliage and would look fantastic in any aquarium. Both underneath and above ground, it is equally alluring. The mid vein is the most noticeable of numerous deep red veins that traverse the length of the leaf in the submerged form. The leaves are cordiform and range in hue from tan to green. This aquarium plant has a very compact immersed growth style, which makes it a lovely potted plant. In this type, Echinodorus 'Altlandsberg' likewise produces copious amounts of flowers, showing an inflorescence of several big, delicate white blooms, followed by plantlets. Even so, the submerged form is very distinct and equally appealing. In the aquarium, the deep red veins of the leaves are less obvious and the leaves are a darker shade of tan. The leaves are more delicate, bigger, and slightly wavered. The submerged form is compact and grows slowly, eventually reaching a size appropriate for an aquarium centerpiece plant. Echinodorus 'Altlandsberg' will eventually produce surface leaves and an inflorescence, just like the majority other Sword plants in the aquarium. This plant, which is brand-new to the American market, was hybridized by German Tomas Kaliebe.
